Falling-block action military rifles were common in the 19th century. Rifles using this action include the M1870 Belgian Comblain, M1872 Mylonas, Sharps rifle, Farquharson rifle, 1890 Stevens, Sharps-Borchardt Model 1878, Winchester Model 1885, Browning model 1885, Browning M78 and Ruger No. An additional advantage is the unobstructed loading path, which imposes no limit on cartridge length this was significant in the late-19th century era of very long "buffalo" and "express" big-game cartridges. This type of action is used in heavy artillery as well as small arms. It is a very strong action when the breech is closed, the receiver essentially becomes a single piece of steel (as opposed to other actions which rely on lugs to lock the breech). When the breechblock is in the lowered position, the rear (breech) end of the chamber is exposed to allow ejection or extraction of the fired case and reloading of an unfired cartridge. The second mode is called push that allows two players (still only using one cart) to play a tug-o-war match. When the breechblock is in the closed (top) position, it seals the chamber from the high pressures created when the cartridge fires and safely transfers the recoil to the action and stock. I love the whole Nintendo theme with Zelda, Mario, and DK. The first multiplayer mode allows up to 10 DS players to connect using only one cart!!! The mode also allows you to add items which are all based on Mario items (Mushroom will give opponents blocks with rockets on them forcing them done super quick, Banana changes the block configuration on you opponents screen, Lightening makes it so opponents can't change the position of their blocks, Shell to remove blocks from the bottom rows, and a Star to protect you from getting affected by other people's items as well as give you straight blocks for a short period of time). I would place this as excellent if it added more than two multiplayer modes. Tetris DS is an awesome multiplayer game!!! The gameplay stays fresh, and you can never truly "beat it", making it a great addition to any collection for years. It's deffinately a good buy, and worth it if you had to trade in your original gameboy game when you bought a DS, like I did. This can become a slight distraction, but doesn't take too much from the game itself. One down side to the original Tetris game included is that while playing on the bottom screen, the top screen shows Mario running through classic Mario levels, filled with pipes, goombas, and koopas. Multiplayer modes are also available in WiFi.

As a whole, the game is mainly for puzzle players, but it's fast-paced.

The characters have their own games, allowing a player to chose from six different game types, and then variations within.

The theme revolves around classic Nintendo characters, such as Link, Mario, Samus Aran, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and the guy who has an attatchment to balloons. With the new DS installment, Nintendo has managed to perserve the original game, as well as bring in new versions. Tetris is one of the most simplistic video games out there, and yet it's survived several different consoles and still remains popular.
